When do you need a security-cleared interpreter?
A security clearance is issued after a vetting procedure and authorises access to classified information at a specified level. Without it, an interpreter cannot attend a classified meeting or receive classified documents — regardless of language skills. I hold clearances of four systems: Poland (issued after ABW vetting), the European Union, NATO and the European Space Agency (ESA), covering the Restricted, Confidential and Secret levels, together with certified training in the protection of classified information.

Does a classified meeting require two cleared interpreters?
For simultaneous interpreting — yes. Two interpreters work in the booth, switching every 20–30 minutes, and both must hold valid clearances at the appropriate level. I work with a network of trusted cleared interpreters and can help assemble the team.
How do you handle classified documents?
Classified documents never leave the designated areas and systems — I work with them under classified-information procedures, at the location indicated by the client (e.g. a classified registry). I do not send them by e-mail or retain copies.

Yes — cleared interpreters are used not only by public institutions but also by defence, space and dual-use technology companies delivering contracts that require access to classified information.
